7.Don't sacrifice accuracy for the sake of speed.

Accuracy in cutting and seaming is very important. Taking the time to cut accurate pieces and make accurate seam allowances will result in accurate block dimensions and result in a quilt top that is square. A well-pieced and square quilt top makes the quilting phase easier and results in a nicer looking end product.
